The Disaster and Emergency Services Department is responsible for preparing the county to become disaster resistant. DES will identify hazards and try to mitigate their effects. DES is responsible for reacting to hazardous situations using the National Incident Management System (NIMS). DES will assist with the recovery phase of any disaster. The DES Department is the point of contact for flood plain issues.
